2023-24 Competition ELITE CHEER Squad Audition Info

Clinic: Monday, June 19th, 6:00-7:15 pm

Quick warm-ups, stretches, then we’ll go over the elements expected for tryouts.  We will review, motion, jumps, tumbling and teach a sideline cheer a short dance combination. 

Tryouts: Wednesday, June 21st 6:30 pm – Please come warmed up and stretched and bring $10.00 per audition and signed Parent Form.

Tryouts: On the second day they will come and audition in groups of 4. We’re looking for strong technique in cheer motions, jumps, cheers, dances, stunts, tumbling, strength and flexibility, and in the demonstration of the choreography. Work ethics & SHOWMANSHIP are extremely important!

AUDITIONS ARE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC. ONLY CHEERLEADERS AND JUDGES ARE TO BE IN STUDIO #2 AFTER REGISTRATION.

COMPETITION ELITE CHEER SQUAD

Created to provide talented cheerleaders with more performing experience, in primarily local venues such as ½ time basketball games and parades. They will compete at TWO local competitions and TWO ½ time games, Spud Day Parade and the Dance Recital.

PARENT MEETING

There will be a MANDATORY parent meeting for parents and ELITE CHEER Squad members (at least one parent per member) Thursday June 22nd, 6:00, at the studio. Parents will need to bring their checkbooks.

CLASSES

ELITE CHEER Squad members will meet for two classes a week as a squad. Members will start Choreography/Conditioning/Tumbling classes in August. Regular classes will start the 31st of August.

FUNDRAISERS

To help ELITE CHEER Squad members acquire the necessary funds needed for uniforms and fees, information for a variety of fundraising programs will be offered.  Fundraisers are optional.  Sponsorship forms are also available.

ATTENDANCE

Please read and sign the CHEER Attendance Contract provided with the Parent Form so you can understand the challenges presented when cheerleaders are not in class or not at performances.

PLEASE REMEMBER that you are auditioning for a competition performance group. Therefore, we expect a certain skill level for their age group. As with any audition we will only be accepting a certain number of cheerleaders. All applicants should use this audition as an opportunity to grow as an individual.

Each cheerleader who auditions will need to BRING: $10.00 audition fee and a signed copy of the Parent Form.

Each cheerleader who auditions will need to WEAR: On top: BLACK tight tank top or leotard, no loose T-shirts. On bottom: BLACK dance pants or shorts. Shoes: Tennis Shoes. Wear your hair up in a high ponytail and out of your face. Look professional.
